The grey line shows the result of scattering calculations[43], convoluted with a normal distribution with a standard deviation of 5 cm −1. The measurements are collectively fit to this calculation with a single global scaling factor that represents the density of the argon beam at T=−150 °C, which is found to be 7.8 ×109 cm −3. \(\chi _{\text {red},\nu =31}^{2}=1.3\).
