From: Direct IR excitation in a fast ion beam: application to NO- photodetachment cross sections
Depletion of an NO - ion beam (N IR /N 0 ) due to interaction with a single infrared laser pulse. The data shows the photodetachment induced depletion as a function of probing the ion packet at different distances from the mirror towards the ion source (negative delays). The best beam overlap is achieved in the region close to the mirror, where a maximum depletion of 90% is demonstrated in a single shot.
